Finding Space
Your car, in a secure space.
We handle the details so you can focus on your day. Simple steps, no hidden costs.
Browse local spots without the dramas
Commercial carparks charge what they charge because, until recently, there was no alternative. A homeowner with a spare bay three doors from your office does not need to cover the overhead of a managed facility. Private parking spaces through ParkingFinder are typically 40 to 70 per cent cheaper than the commercial carpark nearest to them.
Browse by address, suburb, or drop a pin on the map. Listings cover residential driveways, carport bays, private lots, and undercover parking from local hosts. Filter by vehicle size, access type, coded gate, key fob, or simple turn-up, and whether you need covered parking. Prices are listed clearly: daily, weekly, or monthly. No meter top-ups, no entry tickets.
Enter your destination and the map shows every available space nearby. Photos, access details, and pricing are on every listing.
Request your spot in seconds
When you find a space that works, send the host a quick message. Tell them your vehicle, your schedule, weekdays, seven days, early starts, and how long you need the space. Most hosts are residential homeowners with a spare bay. They respond quickly because a reliable, low-maintenance parker is exactly what they are looking for.
Once the host confirms, payment is processed securely through Stripe. You receive a confirmation with the access details. The Handover system logs the condition of the space when you arrive and when you leave, a simple photo record that protects both sides.
Secure payment via Stripe
Pay when you book, your request only reaches the host after payment is confirmed. If the host declines or doesn't respond within 72 hours, you get a full refund. Stripe handles everything with bank-level security and your payment details are never seen by the host.
Once confirmed, you receive the host's contact details and access instructions. The Handover takes care of condition records at drop-off and pick-up. No paperwork to argue over. Just a fair transaction between two people who both want it to be simple.

You are paying $40 a day for a carpark that is three blocks further from your desk.
Commercial carparks in Australian CBDs and inner suburbs operate as a captive market. There is rarely a genuine competitor within walking distance. Private driveways, carport bays, and off-street lots from local hosts break that monopoly. Consistent monthly rates. Closer to where you need to be. No cash machines, no arm-gate failures, no 'full' signs at 8am. The alternative has always been there, most people just did not know where to find it.
The Practical Guide
What to know before you book private parking
Access arrangements
Private parking works differently to commercial carparks. There is no boom gate, no ticket machine, and no attendant. Access depends on what the host has set up: sometimes a coded gate or key fob, sometimes a simple turn-up arrangement for a driveway.
Read the listing carefully for access details and confirm anything unclear before you book. If the spot is a residential driveway with no gate, ask the host to confirm your hours are protected. Most will be straightforward about how it works.
Cancellation and notice periods
Monthly parking arrangements typically run month-to-month. Either side can end the arrangement with notice, usually 14 to 30 days, as agreed when booking. For daily or short-term bookings, cancellation terms are set by the host and shown before you confirm.
If your schedule changes, you switch to working from home, or change roles, you are not locked in. Give the host the agreed notice and the arrangement closes cleanly. Good communication is all it takes.
What happens if something goes wrong
ParkingFinder's Booking Support covers disputes when things do not go to plan. The Handover photo record, taken when you arrive and when you leave, is the starting point for any conversation about space condition or access issues.
If the space is unavailable when you arrive, contact the host first. If you cannot reach them, contact ParkingFinder support. Most issues are resolved quickly. Documented Handover photos make the process straightforward.
Height clearances and bay dimensions
Covered carport bays and residential undercover parking typically have clearances of 1.8 to 2.1 metres. Most standard sedans and hatchbacks clear that easily. SUVs and 4WDs often measure 1.7 to 1.85 metres, which clears a standard carport but leaves limited margin.
Roof racks or roof-mounted accessories add 15 to 25 centimetres. Check your vehicle's actual height against the listed clearance before booking undercover. If dimensions are not listed, ask the host before you confirm.
Monthly versus daily parking
Daily parking makes sense for occasional visits. Monthly arrangements work better for commuters or anyone parking four or more days a week in the same location. A monthly rate is almost always cheaper per day than daily rates at the same spot.
Monthly arrangements also give both sides predictability. You know the space is yours. The host knows income is coming. It is a better deal for everyone when there is a regular schedule involved.

Encrypted & Timestamped
Your driveway is empty for ten hours every weekday.
If you leave for work at 7:30am and return at 6pm, your driveway sits unused for the core hours when nearby workers, hospital visitors, and commuters are actively searching for parking. Listing on ParkingFinder takes under twenty minutes. You set the schedule, the rate, and who gets access. A consistent monthly parker means reliable income with minimal interaction.

Common Questions
Got questions? We have answers.
How do I know the space will be available when I arrive?
Once a booking is confirmed, the space is yours for the agreed schedule. The host commits to that when they accept your request. If there is ever an issue, space occupied, access problem, contact the host directly. ParkingFinder support is available if you cannot resolve it between you.
Can I park a large vehicle like a ute or SUV?
It depends on the bay dimensions. Standard bays fit most passenger vehicles easily. Larger vehicles, full-size utes, people movers, larger SUVs, may need a wider or longer bay. Check the dimensions listed and confirm with the host if your vehicle is on the larger side. Most will tell you honestly whether it works.
What is included in a monthly parking arrangement?
Monthly parking gives you access to the space during the agreed hours for a flat monthly rate. The exact hours, days, and access method are confirmed with the host at the time of booking. Month-to-month arrangements with agreed notice periods are the standard setup on ParkingFinder.
Is my car covered by insurance at a private parking space?
Yes, in the same way it is covered when parked anywhere. Comprehensive car insurance covers the vehicle regardless of where it is parked, subject to your policy's standard conditions. The Handover photos taken at the start and end of your booking provide a condition record for any queries.
