Common questions

Do I need council approval?

In most cases, no. Private storage on residential land is generally exempt from planning approval, but it depends on your council and how frequently vehicles come and go. If you're unsure, our Council Regulations Guide explains what to look for and how to check.

What if something gets damaged?

Every booking includes Booking Support, a platform-facilitated process for reporting and resolving genuine damage or theft claims. We recommend hosts also maintain appropriate property insurance. The Handover (arrival and departure photos) provides a timestamped record for both sides.

When do I get paid?

Payouts are released to your linked bank account within 24 hours of a storer checking in. We use Stripe Connect. Funds transfer directly, no invoice chasing.

Can I reject a booking request?

Yes. If you don't use Instant Book, you approve every request before it's confirmed. You can decline anything that doesn't suit you, with no obligation.

Can I use the space myself sometimes?

Yes. You control your availability calendar. Block out any dates you need the space and only accept bookings that work for you.
